More than 50 percent of the time my computer locks up while I am trying to burn to a blank disc. I have a pentium 4 with 256 ram and 160 on the rom. It is a 3. 0 ghz. using intel. The burning process just freezes. My mouse won't move and the only way to do anything is to turn the computer off. Afterwards, the DVDR is no good and I have to start the process all over again. Does anybody know why this might be happenning?

Technically, this should be sufficient, however, even with all of your other programs shut down (including internet/broadband connection) your PC will still siphon off RAM to run the bare necessities, at least. You might consider investing in another stick (256 RAM) of memory.

Also, buy some DVDRW's, they'll save you money (blank dvdr's) before you can get your burning process perfected.
