hi I bought katamari from the USA it was all seal wrapped and stuff.
My ps2 is chipped with a neo 2.2 I think and I use AR 2 to boot my back ups. So I tried using that method to boot katamari but it didnt work.
I then used dvd loader with cog method and that didnt work. It comes up with invalid disk when its on the "dvd loader" screen. When the dvd is put in it spins then clicks, which sounds odd.
Can anyone help, is there any programs I can download to boot up a NTSC game
thanks
steve

If you have any friends that can play imports, ask them to check the game for you... I would advise you to just get a proper modchip like Mtrix infinity or DMS 4 Pro, or get swapmagic with a slidecard/fliptop

Yeah cheap modchips aren't worth it. The Matrix infinity or the DMS 4 are the way to go. If you bought the console premodded there is always the possiblity that you got a neo clone. Swap magic is an inexpensive solution. You can use it with a flip top or slide card. The slide card sux so go with the flip top. You can find installation info and instructions here: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm Good Luck.

Here is a guide for burning with DVD decrypter: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/117975 Try to use quality DVD-R's like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or Ritek. They may not carry those at the neighborhood Wal-Mart, so at least pick up some Sony or Memorex DVD-R's. Older PS2's don't read DVD-RW's well. It's more likely to be a bad burn than a defective backup. You could always rip that hunk of junk modchip out and replace it with a DMS 4 Pro or Matrix infinity.

hi i've used the dvddecrypter and Nero they both come up with an error at the end of the copying saying it cant be read. Could this be somekind of anticopying protection or is my game dud.
thanx

Quote: so at least pick up some Sony or Memorex DVD-R's
Whatever you do, don't buy Memorex, that are beyond crap, they have about 25% chance of working ;)
@ SteveN_25
Do you have a DVD-ROM drive? Check the disc, clean it if nesscesary.

EDIT : If all else fails, then the game is probably a dud I'm afraid!

Eh I've read mixed reviews of Memorex DVD-R's. Which DVD-R you use is more based on what brands work with your writer and your PS2. They may not be the best, but they are certainly not the worst. Ask any 2 people this question and you'll get 2 different answers.

when I use dvd dectrypter to copy to hard drive this error is in the log
"E 17:13:44 Failed to read Sector 1542032 - L-EC Uncorrectable Error" and "E 17:13:44 Failed to Extract Sectors!"
does this mean protected or broken game.
cheers

Dunno with DVD decrypter but with most programs (Nero, Alcohol, CDRWIN) there is an option like "ignore read errors" that you need to check.
