Okay if you wanna play your old PSX backups and you dont own a modchip/Breaker Pro disc you can play your backups by doing a stripped down version of the PSX swap trick.I dont know if the PS2 gets harmed everytime you do this. Please correct me if it does get harmed or anything like that.Anyway, please note that you NEED to own the slimline PS2 and you NEED something to hold down the sensors.Anyway when all the sensors are pressed down and the disk spins with the lid open you know you covered correctly the sensors.Okay now place a PSX original disk that has a lot of data in it like say Gran Turismo on the disk holder and power on the PS2.Now have the backup you want to play in one hand ready for the swap. When the original disk slow down for the first time switch disks. If you did it right it should take a while for the game to boot but it will eventually boot and start.Dont do it when the disk is spinning fast or you could a)damge the PS2 console b)damage the lens c)wear down the teeth that hold the disk in place d)damage the backup

How many of these "Usefull" threads are you going to make?
This isn't just stupid *since you could seriously damage your ps2*
But it also seems quite unlikely...
Have you even tried this out?

Or you could use a PS1 gameshark with a slim PS2. You do have to open it up an tape down that button in there so the PS2 don't know when you open it to swap discs. It's a less trouble solution IMO.

and what if you dont have a PS1 gameshark lying around and dont plan on forkin the money to buy it?Ill say it again, this was MADE for people who dont want TO FORK OVER MONEY to get a MODCHIP,BREAKERPRO DISK or GAMESHARK.If you have a PS1 gameshark thats great,USE it.If you dont have any of those things lying around at least try my method.I stil suggest that if you have the money buy the PS1 gameshark,Breaker Pro disk or a modchip.

This may be the wrong place to ask... is there a way to play backups on a PSX without a mod chip, or a ps1 gameshark?

also, i do have a ps1 gameshark, but i am missing the memory card for it, would it still work?

original psx, i have 2 of them, one has the laser in a different place, and in the back, it has the red white yellow things, and to the left is a spot where an action replay or something would go

the other one is normal.

okay umm sorry for the late response ive been busy.

anyway, use the normal PSX.First, get something two hold the sensor at the back of the PSX(inside of the fliptop).Next get a game that has lots of data in it like say Gran Turismo and put it in and power up.The disk should be spining.Okay get the backup you wish to play in one hand ready for a swap.Okay look closely at the game disc while its spining. When you power up it will be spining normaly then it will speed up,whe it slows down quickly swap it with your backupgame. It should go at normal speed then speed up.When it speeds up quickly, swap with the original and when you get the black screen on your TV switch again with you backup.Your backup should boot up.
