I always burn at a friends house, he has NAV2005, I recently kicked it off my system and got a copy of Norman Virus Control, it doesnt take so long to load when Windows starts and it gives less security popups :)

Yeah I had Norton and it slowed my computer to a crawl. I searched CNET and found it did that to everybody. So I use Trend Micro PC-Cillin and all is well now. Off topic, but a lot of people still use Norton because of the name. Norton blows people use good AV like Trend Micro or Mcafee.

McAfee is crappy too, tried that in 2003, it really wasnt helpful at all, also never ever use Panda AntiVirus, it will screw up your system, I installed it once and when I wanted to uninstall, it hanged my pc every time I tried -_-"

I'm getting Norton 2006, I'll see if it works without consuming so much memory and stuff, I'll keep you posted on that :)

Don't waste your money lol. Dunno about Mcafee 03, but my parents have 05 and it works on their computer. A lotta people hate it though. I download a lot and Trend Micro AV updates almost daily so the virus protection and real time scan are second to none. The Firewall well, at least I have one. Bit Defender AV is a good product not a lot of people know about.

Macafee works just fine, that is what i have. It updates
all the time, but of course the firewall is a seperate
product you have to buy. Symantec is also really good.
and there are a few free one's out there that are really good too.
They are made for corporations but can be used free for
private use. I never have any problems with My Macafee at all.
But when i had it the first time a few years back i hated it.
but i use it along with AdAware SE and it has seemed to keep
everything clean and running good.

Ok but back to the question at hand, Yes i think the no name
media is a problem. Get one of the brands mentioned by Tokijin.
I have used Philips and TDK with great success
I always buy 8X DVD-R and burn at 4X with DVD Decrypter
works every time for me on both my V7 and V12
