I am trying the method invented by DigitalEX. It uses a program called 'ExploitSender' in conjunction with AR Max to send the exploit directly to the memory card.
Is this an easy way to do it?
I heard exploitsender doesnt work very well. Is this true?
Can anyone recommend a site that has DETAILED instructions as to how to exploit an unmodded PS2 with Action Replay Max / or Action Replay Max EVO (without usb flash drive)?
Try the FAQ at : http://www.exploitstation.com/ , it has somewhat detailed instructions on exploits.
And i can tell you now you'll need a usb memory stick to do it.
Also, if you have a slim ps2, you can forget about trying, memory card exploits don't work on the slimline.

See I don't have a USB drive at all, but I do have Action Replay Max. I should be able to load the exploit from my PC (which acts as a code server for ARMAX) by networking it to my PS2. It seems fairly easy but I just want to know if anyone has had success with this method?? According to a poll I found at one site, 88% of people attempting this method could not get it to work. The exploitsender method didn't work for me, AR Max said there was an error connecting to server. So this is what I did to get elfs on my mem card:
install max media creator on PC, run it, add elfs you want by selecting add file (you have to add each file, one by one [Some don't work because they expect config files to be in the mem card (i.e. KeyLauncher]), and since you are gonna have to burn it on CD, add mp3s or DivX movies to fill the space if you feel like you're wasting a CD. Choose PS2 CD-ROM as output media (I had a USB drive but I'm sure cd-r's will work). Boot up PS2 with AR Max, start media player, when the movie starts playing and the CD stops spinning, replace AR Max with the cd you just made and you should be able to lauch elfs.
One of the elfs you put on the CD should be EXECFTPS and you will be able to get things on your mc. There are tutorials for that on the net. And I'm tired of typing. Anyways, hope this helps, Good luck~!
