as per gurnard, i use that great site svp. as for burner i use a Sony DRU-700A (rebadged Lite-on like most Sony's i think), however my burner let me down last night (think i've worn it out LOL, though it has done like 2000 burns so i've been more than happy with it), gonna go swap it later for a DRU-800A as i think that's what's in stock at pc world at moment. for media that i use see my sig.

i haven't (and probably won't) tried datasafe as am more than happy with Verbs, TY in the 100 tubs (though i only bought 1 of those) and recently about 500 of the new-fangled Verb-TY discs - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/229523#1271782. and i recently bought 50 Ritek G05 printables, they were also great.

the cheapest i've found yet from svp are the Verb +R 8x in tubs of 10 for £2.49 a tub, they're excellent

can't help you with all that as i'm out of my gadget stage at the moment :)

as to your datasafe question i don't know if the datasafe are genuine, however svp go to pains to make sure they only sell genuine TY so you should be fine.

..i just wish they'd stopped selling the CMC rubbish though :)

naw, Verbatim used to use CMC, as far as any of us on afterdawn are aware, all Verbatim coded as MCC codes are in fact MCC codes (we're always reading different things over at cdfreaks forums where some ppl reckon that some MCC discs are made by CMC but with MCC codes. that's one reason i don't hang out there too often, too may different (and confusing) opinions. Not saying they're wrong, i just dunno where they get their info. plus they love CMC over there and we over here see endless problems with CMC - i think we see more logfiles afflicted by CMC than anywhere else.

as to the Verb TY's....they're still there - half way down the -R (nonprintable) page - £6.49 for 25.

plus i have to take it back to PC World as that's where i've got 1 1yr return on the drive, plus i don't think (might be wrong) that they have any better drives in PC World...(they didn't last year when i got this Sony)
