OK, what I'd like to know is, how many % of you use DVD- and DVD+ and what works good, so I'll need brand, burner and type (+/-)

I use Verbatim DVD+R never had a problem. Some use -r. Its all up to what flavor your system likes. Id suggest buying a 3 pack of each (they sell them at staples) and see what works best for you. Then dont ever change....

I only have these brands available and they all come in a 5-pack minimum

-TDK
-Maxell
-Mmore
-Imation
-Memorex
-Philips
-Fujifilm

I have a DVD+RW burner (Lite-On DVD+RW SOHW-802s)

I'll be trying some DVD+Rs on it this weekend so I'll post the results next week

skip the Memorex, they are just a waste of your money
TDK, Philips, Verbatim, Ritek G04, Yaiyo Yuden
those would be my top picks.
DVD-R 8X speed.
I use Philips myself in my Sony DRU-700A Burner
never have a problem with them
I have used TDK in the past with good results too

i see that from your above post.
i am just saying that i have had better luck
with the -R media myself.
Since my burner can do both i tried a +R and had some
bad results, even though they +R and -R were the same
brand and speed.
But i had not tried setting the booktype yet which may help
the +R media play beter.
But the same brands would be what i suggest in +R too.

Dunno what all the fuss about DVD+R is... yesterday I backed up Dynasty Warriors 5 on an Arita DVD+R 4x (thats a pretty unknown brand eh?) using an LG standard burner
It works perfectly with his Ceramic PS2 and my V9~V10 PS2, he uses SwapMagic 3.3 and I use 3.6 in combo with the slidetool

So... piece of advice, borrow cheap disks from family and friends, see what DVD works and keep burning on those (oh yeah dont forget to pay the borrowed DVDs back =P )

Hmm, having no problem playing Genji, Dynasty Warriors 5 or Gundam vs Zeta so far... I use purple Arita 4x... they simply work, made an ISO+MDS with DVD Decrypter and burned them with Nero 6 on a standard LG burner... simple as that, the Arita were cheap too...

I've tried both TDK- and Sony+ and I must say that the Sony+ Worked far better. The TDK- seemed to really lag heaps with some games, esp. my EA games, but with Sony+ I had no problems whatsoever. Just my opinion.

I own a PS2 of the V1 to V10 series, all of those lasers are bound to die, it's not like I game 24/7... I should be ok for the next few years, the console is only a 1,6 years old so... And look at it like this, the time it breaks down, PS3 will be here, forcing me to:

A. Get a PS3 which I want in the future
B. Buy another PS2 which will be extremely cheap due to superior consoles out there (XBOX360, PS3, N. Revolution)

So, I'll keep burning on Arita, it's RitekG05, so it cant be that bad...
