I tried to make a backup of this disc with AnyDVD 5.4.4.1 and DVD Shrink, It makes the disc without errors but it does not work in my xbox or the dvd rom drive. anyone have any suggestions or run into similar situations?

What is the brand name and model # of your DVD-RW drive?
What is the brand name/format/and speed rate of your blank media?
What program did you use to burn it?
Is this the only backup you can't play or does it do it on all your backups?

Download this free handy program to ID your media, and DVD-RW drive. It'll also tell you the firmware version of your DVD-RW drive. Let us know what that info is.

I did the full screen version using DVD Shrink and Nero. No need for AnyDVD to be activated on that title.

i am trying the Widescreen format. I have a Toshiba DVD-RW with the latest Firmware upgrade. The discs i'm using are Windata DVD-R the discs are shaky but I haven't had any other problem burning any other DVD. The only DVD's i've had problems copying is Lords of Dogtown and Amityville. I got the Interpreter as well so i'll see if that one has any issues. I'm trying DVD Fab Decrypter with DVD Shrink right now.

The interpreter is just like amityville, no need for AnyDVD.

Anydvd sometimes give people issues when they have it.I disable AnyDVD on my setup until there is a need for it.

Try disabling AnyDVD on both those titles. Lords of dogtown is definitely another story.Had to have AnyDVD enabled for that one.

What's your burning program?

what program are you using for the copy protection then?

I got amityville to work. It will play back on my computer and on a old Daewoo DVD player but won't play back on my Xbox, i'm tring interpreter with dvd x copy right now.

I was using nero with DVD Shrink. I wasn't opening up nero and burning the files DVD Shrink was using nero to burn the files.

90% of ripping original dvds are with DVD Shrink, and then let Nero autoburn directly after encoding, leaving AnyDVD disabled.Other 10% would be DVD Decrypter and LODT was dvdfab decrypter express.

I check out every one of those originals with DVD Shrink to check the overall size: DVD-5 or DVD-9.

If they are DVD-5,then I can use the simple ISO read and ISO write of DVD Decrypter on my backup single drive pc.It only has Nero,DVD Shrink, and DVD Decrypter loaded on it. No DVD43,no AnyDVD!

Those newer encryptions will give DVD Shrink problems during the initial analyzing-the quick 2-3 analyzation. If I can't get through that step, then I activate AnyDVD in the background and DVD Shrink will usually cut through it.

I've read many posts on members leaving AnyDVD turned on all the time with problems, and turning it off usually took care of it.

Lately on those smaller dvd-5's using my dual dvd drive pc, Activating AnyDVD and using my oem version of Nero express: Ripping and burning on the fly has been great. A little risky, but something to pow around with when I get bored.

It sounds like you have something wrong with that disc.Is it clean? Maybe dirt or fingerprints? Usually they will crc error out during the ripping process.

Could be that the Xbox is just picky with the Media. But you said that one of them worked... Same Media?

I know PS2's can be picky with Media but usually it's just DVD-R vs DVD+R but you're using DVD-R so there shouldn't be a problem

i've actually foudn that the -R gives me more problems. I have used the same CDs many many times and it worked fine. I think it may be a bad disc or well I dunno what else it could be.
