I just downloaded Shrink + DVD Decrypter about a week ago. I have tested Shrink on several movies and it is working but today I tested my "Final Fantasy" disk and movie was choppy at preview I went by the description in AFTERDAWN DVD-9 guides. Where someone wrote that at end: Do full analysis and back-up with adaptive error correction set to Smooth.
I got movie to 100% (with about 100meg spare) but when I went to: Back-Up and then Quality Settings the page there was all greyed-out and fixed to "Sharp". I looked around this site + tried a few things on Shrink for about 1/2 hour and could find any way of being allowed to change these setting - Any tips? Thanks in advance.
If you are backing up to a DVD9 there will not be any need for compression and the quality settings will be grayed out. I recomend useing DVD Decrypter iso read iso write for dvd9's.
The choppy playback is usually due to poor quality media. What media are you useing? Use this free proggy and tell us the manufacturer and ID. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
Actually I found out that the Quality Settings were also greyed because I had dragged movie from re-author but when I tried through Full-Disk it worked - the choppiness I could see in preview section so I didn't think it media affected rip. I burnt onto Vertatim +RW as test and it was flawless, hopefully when I burn to my TDK +R it will be that way as well.
Be aware that about 50% of TDK DVD+R media is made by cmc magnetics which is pure garbage. Use this free proggy to see who actually made your TDK discs. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/
