Is their any way to re author and keep menus with shrink or any other program. I have the trail version of anydvd and clone too and they seem to work better. Although for my backup of longest yard I reauthored in DVD Shrink and then in CloneDVD there was an option to keep menus and that worked. IS that the only way to keep menus?

Thanks for any help.

In Shrink you can make the items you do not want still images or still pictures and still keep the menus. It is under compression Click on something on the left side and look on the right side and now instead of automatic click on it and change it to what ever you want like still pictures

@tarheel83:

Just to add to Car.Mike's response. If you do keep the menu(s) as still pic's, that's all they will be. They will not be interactive and pretty much useless. All it does is take up time before the main movie begins. I've done this as an inadvertent experiment and boy, did I learn...the hard way. I had to wait and sit there while the menu finally finished its predetermined time before cycling over again. (NOTE: this time can vary between the movie studios) Then, the movie would start. Now mind you, I couldn't fast forward or skip this part because technically, it wasn't part of the movie.

There are several programs that can keep menus but still "remove" some of the titles, and as Car.Mike said you can either turn unwanted video into still pictures (ie a slideshow) or with a single still image. I personally prefer to use separate programs like VobBlanker (free) or DVDReMake/DVDReMake Pro (commercial) for that part of the process, but that's a matter of personal preference.
