This was over at FW and it seems like a really hot deal. The NEC-3540a using the code burner10 makes the drive $37.99 but there's a combo special with the Sonic 8x DVD-R's. When buying both of them together the total price is something like $46. I've had great success with the Sonic 4x DVD-R's, so as long as the 8x variety are the same, i'll be good. The drive though is what i'm most interested in. this is the combo deal.

I am not a big promoter of Shop4tech, you would be better of looking at newegg which has better support.

The 3540 is a quality burner,can't say the same on those sonic -8x discs.

Lots of dissatisfied members who went to shop4tech,so beware.

Here's a good oem NEC 3540:

They also have a 3540 that comes with oem Nero for $47 with shipping.

i concur with the above statements, shop4tech is ONE of the few companies on my BANNED list of online retailers to purchase from, i was scammed with FAKE TYs a few years back, and these Sonic's that you are interested in are RIGHT UP THAT ALLEY~ :)

i personally would avoid shop4tech and go with newegg.com, much more reliable AND they don't ship you FAKE TYs~ :) not that newegg carries TYs, but, at least they don't lie to you after they get your money~
