HD Advance 2.0 keeps asking to Format

Hi,

I have the PS2 Slim, XCM HD Connect, Maxtor 200GB HD
and the HD Advance 2.0.

1. PS2 power up, it detects the drive and asks to Format.
Click Go and it formats, takes less than a minute.

2. Then it takes me to the main menu. I convert a game,
run it, works fine.

3. I turn off the PS2, later I power it back up, it prompts me
to format the drive again! Does this every time I power up!


4. A technical issue. I can screen tiny color pixels on the screen
when the hd drive is running. must be noise coming into the ps2
from the hd. any ideas on how to eliminate this?

Please help! I tried the hd advanced forum at usbextreme.com
but when I click post, it just has a web error. plus I see that
most post never get answered. Thank you!!!
