I been using DVD Santa for a while now to convert .AVI into DVD and up until now its been very sucessful, but the last few times I tried to use it I got very bad Audio Video sync its out by a least 5 seconds I know there is an Audio delay in the advanced tab but how do I find out how much I should set it to to get perfect or near perfect AV Sync, I recently installed Google Talk could this have changed an audio setting somewhere ? I'd realy appreciate any help with this one as its driving me banana's !

Thank you for that Scf_Au,
I agree with you 100% about Santa's burning capability I have been using Santa to encode and then using Clone to burn from the encoded file on my HD, which was working fine up to a couple of weeks ago but its all gone haywire now. I have tried AVI 2 DVD but the result was the same as with DVD Santa the AV sync was way out I could live with a minor imperfection but this was so bad it was totally un watchable Do you think that installing GoogleTalk may have caused the problem, because it was around this time that I first noticed the problem ?

I'll still suggest for you to try a couple more other converters (e.g. VSO) on a couple more avis to make sure. If the problem persists, you may of course try uninstalling Google Talk.

Dear scf_au
I just did a system restore and after I did it I tried encoding an .AVI file and got perfect results from DVD Santa The Audio Video sync was perfect and that was on the same movie that had given me all the trouble before ie. Major mis timing in AV sync. Unfortunately I had to undo the system restore because of Important stuff I now have on my computer but I will be able to sort it out by degree's I will back up all the stuff that I need and then do another system restore this time I will have everything I need backed up and ready to reinstall from my old system.
I think I will reinstall one prog at a time and then encode a movie with DVD Santa to see if I can Identify the culprit. I will post the final results.
Thanks for your help sfc_au I really appreciate it.

Good to know. You may also want to set up a restore point before installing a new program onto the pc.

I have been getting the same problem, also i get a thick green line at the bottom of the picture. I mainly use this program for burning series episodes to disc, is there any other program that will do this.
e.g red dwarf series 1...... 6 episodes.
cheers guys

System restore is a feature of windows what it does is restore your whole computer back to an earlier date so if your settings were working better, say on the 30th of last month you can restore your computer to that date.
If you go to "START" and then "ALL PROGRAMMES" and then "ACCESSORIES" then " "SYSTEM TOOLS" and then at the bottom of the drop down menu you will see "SYSTEM RESTORE" Just click on that and follow instructions you can do a system restore and you can also set restore points from there System Restore can also be undone by simply clicking on "UNDO RESTORE" so if there is anything you are not happy with about a system restore you can easly undo the restore.

I think the green line maybe because you are using a trial version of the SW they say DivX to DVD is doing the business but be aware that trial versions may often have limitations, but if I'm not mistaken I think there may be a free version of DivX to DVD some of our more learned members might be able to add further enlightenment.

I had the same problem with a movie and clicked on the Advanced Setting tab in the Video File tab in DVD Santa. You will see an Audio or Video delay. I delayed my audio for 3500 MS (3.5 Secs) and it burned perfect. It only happened on this one movie though, even though the AVI file played perfectly on the computer.
