Why do closed captions show up on the dvdr on playback but not on preview. I re authored, so I don't have any menus to "turn off" the captions" Help please.....

I guess this is just a case of learning by mistake.

The best thing to do, before reauthoring, is to untick the sound and sub options you don't want. Because now, you're stuck with the sub's on the back up you just made.

And no, the sub's won't show up while DVD Shrink is encoding. What's the point, it's going by (as in fast forward) so fast that there's really no use in including it into the process.

You should still have a menu for your set top dvd player that will allow you to turn off the captions. I came across this a couple times too when I was useing shrink.

Just look for a subtitle button on your dvd remote. I've got a couple of back-ups where the subs start with movie but like Mort said, they are easily turned off through the player.

Thanks guys, Ill try it out, I didn't think that I would have any options because I just burned the movie, I'll give it a shot, when I get it back.......Seems people like to borrow free dvd's also, hopefully I'll get it back in time to let yall know. Thanks again....
