Thanks. I stumbled onto this site by accident about a week ago and have found it very informative and helpful. I just wish I could contribute as much as I learn from you senior members.

@FiremanDB, just keep reading as many threads as you can and in no time you'll be on your way to helping others.
As andmerr said, Senior Member just means that they have reached a number of postings, doesn't mean that we have more knowlege than anyone else.
Just been around longer. There is still a lot to be learned from the Newbies right through to Mod.

Welcome to aD! Don't worry - this site is all about helping people out.
As Gwen & Andmerr pointed out status is nothing - it's the quality not the quantity.

Hey everyone and HAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We got through another happy and in good health - doesnt get any better than that!
-----------------------------
Ok, so I am catching up on the last few pages posted ... and now I know why I cannot find the canon pixma that you all are always raving about!!!
It wasnt until firemandb (thanx) came in the thread that made me realize I am searching for something that does not exist where I am - within the last few weeks I HAD decided that I would look for a disk-printable printer and every pixma I found did not have the capabilities of printing to disk, and the only ones I found that did were the Epsons. *L* Well, I am wondering what I can find on newegg or something.
Looks like I need to start looking towards the epsons now!
Thanx for the heads up gwen.
---------------------
Hey andmerr how-is going! I havent seen you in a while but you know my schedule leaves me in and out here and there! I hope you celebrated well.

Hi andmerr and Zazzle, apparently in the US they are available but NOT with the DVD print feature according to FiremabDB.
Quote: Being extremely curious, I called the Canon technical support line and was told that this feature was not available on the Canon Pixma 4000's that were sold in the United States. Apparently only the models that were sold outside the US have this capability.
That's one thing we have up on the Americans!!

I am using the same printable discs as you (verbatim datalife plus) and i just don't like the quality, i guess they are considered matte correct? Are there any companies that make reliable discs that have a glossy printable surface?

As previous, I use white Verbatim ink jet printable, the results I achieve are excellent.I know of others who use the silver discs, also with good results.
Nowhere do my discs say Datalife

Gwen:
What software do you use, cdlabel print? As i said it still prints off center, even though i can play with the MM settings and if play with it too much it'll throw the printer off completely and it'll print like half its weird. Isn't there a way to configure the canon printer's alignment for cd, was it posted in this thread, i don't remember, but someone linked to it.

Ok, i was trying to do a backup of four brothers, i already own it but i backup all my dvds and put them in seperate places just incase someone spills water, a fire starts etc or who knows, i live with alot of people who screw my stuff up.
Anyway the pictures below are what it looks like in cdlabel print than what it looks like when printed, as you can see it does not line up, any suggestions here?

Droppix Receives LightScribe Certification for Droppix Label Maker Pro Software, the First Multi-Drive Application of Lightscribe
Droppix Label Maker Pro Lets Users Create Professional Quality Labels and Print With Laser Precision to Multiple LightScribe-Enabled Optical Drives Simultaneously
PARIS, December 16, 2005?Droppix, the new gold standard in digital media technology, today announced its new LightScribe-compliant Droppix Label Maker Pro software (multi-drive version) for creating and printing multiple professional quality CD and DVD labels simultaneously.
Droppix Label Maker Pro with LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling technology provides a complete and intuitive solution for creating customized labels for CDs and DVDs and printing them directly on the surface of multiple discs simultaneously via LightScribe-enabled optical drives.
?Droppix Label Maker Pro, multi-drive version, with LightScribe technology, along with the Droppix Recorder for Towers solution, puts a professional end-to-end CD and DVD production solution at people?s fingertips,? said Droppix Sales Manager Philippe Vitrant. ?Droppix now provides professional users with advanced features and unparalleled ease-of-use, for the complete serial disc production process, from creation of a disc master to the personalization of the media.?
"We are pleased to award compliance to Droppix Label Maker Pro for the first multi-drive application of LightScribe. Now users of systems with multiple drives can duplicate a single label or simultaneously launch multiple labeling tasks in parallel," said Kent Henscheid, LightScribe Marketing Manager. "Discs duplicated in small and medium businesses and enterprise departments are frequently used for dissemination of sales tracking data, training programs, client services information, and other business content. Droppix' software leads the way into these markets to deliver the professional-looking results of LightScribe labeling technology."
LightScribe Direct Disc Labeling is a technology that offers consumers and businesses a simple, no-hassle way to burn professional, silkscreen-quality labels on their CDs and DVDs. Using the same laser that burns data in their disc drives, customers burn their data as always, flip the disc over, reinsert it into the drive and burn a precise, iridescent label.
