I agree with most of the users on this subject: If you want nice looking cd/dvd's use printers like R300 PIXMA 4000 or 5000...LightScribe is funny yes, but it's not the nice's look, i think :)

nope the pic didn't show up.

gwendolin: I made the pic in photoshop from a background floating around on the web. I didn't have the hole in the middle in the picture originally so its not like it printed a hole, it just didn't print around the diameter correctly. Someone in another thread mentioned to me its because my verbatim is 119mm and the inner maybe different too that is why i am getting this damned white line and you can't adjust cdlabel print to print past 118mm, which is why i am wondering what you guys use. I was using Nero cover designer until i uinstalled it for a previous version (7 was making cds skip) and it inadvertinatly uninstalled Nero cover designer. I am wondering if that can be obtained on its own.

@ tashacat

the string you have isnt complete.
1.its not in brackets the words img,
/img
which it should be [*img][*/img], but i see you dont have this [*] which was the important thing to remove

2.did you join properly as the image is saying you arent hosting it anymore

Gwendoline, after trying the Canon ip4000 USA and found the CD/DVD printer is not made in the good ol' USA I attempted to return it. They wanted a 30% re-stocking fee, all new Canon cartridges and of course shipping. I would end up paying them to take it back so I decided to keep it with my other 3 Canon printers. I did buy a new Epson R220 that prints on Cd/DVD and it works perfectly. I never dreamed that different countries would make them differently, I guess that I learned a lesson.

Thanks for getting me on the right track on printing directly to CD/DVD's.

gwendoline, thanks for the tip I am the one that gave you the
http://www.cdcovers.cc website. I have been using it for a couple of years. I love it.
I am using the Ty-Yuden 1x8 inkjet printable DVDs and they are working PERFECTLY on my equipment. The Ty-Yudens work the best of any blank media I have ever used.

Yes paiger651, what kind of software do you use to print them?
I tried on Ebay with several different phrases but I had no luck.
I have the IP4000 and the IP6000 and the front is the same on both of the printers.

@Tashacat, yes indeed it was you who directed me to the cover site, a long ways back in October, for which I thank you. I have used the site on many occasions with success and now recommend it to others.

gwendolin, that is what is so nice about these forums, the exchange of information with others.
I have shown many of my friends the CD/DVDs thatI have made with my inkjet DVD media. They really look professional. If you hadn't mentioned it I would still be using stick-on labels.
Thanks again

Thanks for the info. Now I just have to find the tray. Sure would be easier if Canon made them available to the public.

Here is the Canon CD/DVD tray for sale on Ebay.
It is a little pricey at $39.95. Take a look for anyone interested.

@Tashacat, do NOT pay that much for the tray, it's robbery. My printer cost around US$80 here in Aus. For a few more $$$$ you could probably buy yourself a new Epsom
