I have been burning for almost 3 months no problem. Now, when I burn, it burns like normal, but the DVD won't play in any DVD players or in the computer. I'm using the same format, the same DVD+R. Even in Explorer, I don't have the Audio_ts/Video_ts folers.
Thanks.

my settings:
e-machine
XP
DVD+R - FugiFilm
DVD Shrink 3.2
Nero 6.3.0.2
TSST CORP CD/DVDW TS/h55 - 8x

you have to have some setting wrong somwhere. Cause if it is burning to disc then there would be somthing on the disc.

When you burn with nero you are burrning to disc and not just simulating burrning right? Cause that could be whats going on is that your simulating the burn and it is placing it to your hard drive in a temp folder and not to disc.

You should have an option to tick or un-tick on the part when you can choose the speed of the disc how many copys you wanna burn etc. etc. It should say "perform simulation" somthing in that effect. Just untick the box make sure there isnt a check or X in it.

Your Nero is too old, you need to update to the latest 6.6.0.16. Other than that, you can check here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php for a firmware update for your dvd burner if there is any available.

NOTE: your Fuji media are good, but you need to make sure it says "Made In Japan" (the DVD+R Fuji Made In Japan are genuine Taiyo Yuden media). In addition, don't burn anything more than 4X and you should be fine.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.

dymx,
Nero could care less what DVD you are using. Use whatever your burner burns properly

dymx ,
go into Device Manager and right click on the burner and go to Properities and it should tell you the model #. You can also get the info in DVDDecrypter. If I had to bet I would say that it is not a DVD burner but it does read DVD's ( DVD-Rom) and burns CD's. This is why we need the model #

Copy and paste the last session from your ahead/nero/nerohistory.log in the Nero discussion forum.

The last session begins with:

====== *** NeroAPI, History File *** ======

Edit out serial numbers, which begin with 1A20.

You gave me the info on the HD not the cd/dvd. Try looking for DVD/CD drives

@ Car.Mike & attar:

I have a sneaking suspicion that dymx only has a DVD-rom.

dymx,

When you go to Device Manage you should see DVD/CD drives, click the + sign and it then will show you the names of your CD/DVD drive.

If I am not mistaken that is a CD drive that can read a DVD-Rom. You do not have a burner

You can burn a DVD onto a CD but it is a entirely different monster. CD's are about 1/7th the size of DVD's and so the compression is different and the programs are different. Go to the the post below and click on it and there are the instructions w/ the programs you will need.
