No more 4x DVD-R's?

I cant seem to find anymore 4x dvd-r's or +r's. All i find now are 8x and above. Are 4x dvd-rs obsolete now. Im asking because 4x work the best with my ps2 but iv'e noticed that verbatims 8x work well too. Are 8x dvd-r's just as good as 4x?

I Just Brought A Pack of Disks Yesterday That where DVD - r 1x to 8x are you sure that they can't burn 4x's

buy the 8X, they are better anyway
That is what i have always used
You burn them at 4X speed and they work great

I know i cant find any 4x dvd+-r's anymore, just 8. What brand did you buy that alowed for 1-8x burning? I like burning at 1x so that my backups will playback flawlessly.

laser DVD-R but im pritty shure if the dvd's can burn 8x they can burn 4x as well
