Just wanting to know if it will have a DVD player.
My dvd player is on the way out, even though it is only 1 year old and cost me $700. Its out of warrenty.

Will the XBOX360 dvd (if it has one) be able to play DVD-R's? and also when does the 360 come out (US and Australia if anyone knows).

Yes it will be able to play DVDs. As for the release date...US 22 Nov 05 and I'm not sure about Australia but I don't think it hits there until early 06. Prices, well there are different packages popping up everywhere...some with unbelievable prices but, the two most common packages is the Core package $300 and the Premium Package for $400.
