Hi everyone, I've got a pretty good collection of vhs movies that i've purchased in the 80s & 90s....(some are not even available in dvd's )

anyway I'm finally going to retire my vcr by copying these vhs's to my new dvd recorder. but I'm finding out that 9 out of 10 movies won't let me copy?? after spending some times reading on this & other another site I'm learning that there is a thing called " microvision"? that prevents signals from being recorded?

my questions is: Is microvision something that needs to be disable from the player(vcr)? or the dvd recorder? or both? :(

thanx in advance

Is your DVD recorder a standalone unit or an internal PC unit.

If as I assume it is a standalone, then you'll need a device such as Sima CT-2 GoDVD

The I.S.PRO HQ GOLD
http://www.ktvision.com/

Or do a search for VHS macrovision removal in google, that should get you some alternatives.

I personally used a Pinnacle Capture card, and use the RCA connectors straight into that, it took the Macrovision off, but I was using my PC setup.

I also use the Pinnacle Studio software, I presumed it was the hardware, but maybe the software bypasses the macrovision. Wht software are you using?
