Got Marvel Nemesis and used dvd decrypter to make an iso then burned with decrypter and did not work. Does this game need to be rebuilt if so how. Cant find much on this game please help.

You can't just do an image creation with DVD Decrypter, then turn around an burn it. It's not going to work on all games. You have to clean out the "dud" space that the original image has, then rebuild the image, then you use DVD Decrypter to burn the new image to disc.
An original PS2 game disc has blank spaces on it. Imagine a record album with songs on every other track. When you do just a straight image creation, then a reburn of that image, the blank space is put close to the inner ring of the disc, and the software is pushed to the outter portion of the disc.
Below is how I create my games, and I have yet to see it fail.
** DVD Decrypter to create initial image.
** ISOBuster to extract the files of the image (doing away with the dud space.
** CD/DVD Gen to create the necessary files for rebuilding the image.
** IML to ISO to put the files together to create the final image.
** DVD Decrypter to burn the final image.
Hardware:
I use the Swap Magic 3.6 / new flip lid combo. You simply install the new lid, then
use the appropriate Swap Magic disc to boot the copied game. If you burn to a DVD, then you use the DVD boot disc. If you burn to a CDR, then you boot with the CDR boot disc. My method works with modchips as well, but I recommend the swap magic/flip lid combo. Here?s where I purchased mine: http://www.thegiantstore. You?ll have to find
your system, then get the right lid.
** My Instructions **
1. Create the initial image from the retail game disc using DVD Decrypter.
A. Insert your game disc into your computer.
B. Open DVD Decrypter.
C. Click Mode/ISO/Read, or just Press R
D. Take note of the image name it provides for you, and the
location to where it will save it.
E. Press the button at the bottom so it can create the 1st
image of the game.
2. Open that image up in ISOBuster.
A. This is a tiny folder icon at the very top of ISOBuster,
locate that icon.
B. Click that icon, and double click the image file that
DVD Decrypter created for you.
3. Write down all of the names you see in the order you see them.
4. Drop the window down for a moment, and open MY Computer.
5. Open the C Drive.
6. Create a new folder called "isocleaned."
NOTE: You will use this folder each time for each new game
you rip. So remember to empty this folder after you
have completed all of the below steps.
7. Minimize that window (drop it down)
8. Return to ISOBuster.
9. Press Cntrl-A to highlight all of the files.
10. Right click any one of them, and select "extract."
11. Extract the files to the c:\isocleaned folder.
12. Once that is done, close ISOBuster.
13. Open up CD-DVD Gen 1.20.
14. Select New Project.
15. Select DVD.
16. Position this window and the ISOCleaned folder side by side.
17. Looking at the ISOCleaned folder and your list of written file
names, drag and drop, in order, one file at a time into the
CD DVD Gen program window.
18. Once you have all of the files there, click the Volume button.
19. Put in SLUS in the first box.
20. In the 2nd box, put in the number found next Slus file of the
game. (you've written this down, so look at your list.)
For the Producer Name, put in this: PLAYSTATION
NOTE: Put all of the numbers in, leaving out the decimal point.
21. Click Record.
22. You get 2 errors - this is correct.
23. Click File/Export IML, and extract them to your desktop or say
a new folder called "IMLFiles." You will have to give this
series of IML files that will be created, a name. So, I suggest
using part of the game's name.
24. Once this is done, close CDDVD Gen.
25. Now, you have pieces of a puzzle to put together to create a
new ISO file. It's time to open IML2ISO.
26. Under the IML File box where it says "test.iml", click the
button to the extreme right that has 3 dots on it.
27. Browse to your desktop folder, and select the first .IML file.
OR
Browse to the new folder you might have created when using
CDDVD gen, and open up the first .iml file.
NOTE: CDdvd gen created a series of IML files, numbering each
one. You are to select the one with the lowest number,
or no number at all.
28. Click start, and sit back and wait. A new image is being
created, and will show up on your desktop.
29. Once the new image is created, close IML2ISO.
30. Right click your new image file, and select "burn with DVD
Decrypter."
or...
Open DVD Decrypter, press W, and have it open the new ISO for
you, then click button at the bottom to burn the new image to
a blank disc.
Once you have tested your copy, open up the ISOClean folder, and delete all of those files. Also, delete both the original and new ISO created. Secondly, delete all of the IML files. Doing this will regain your hard-drive space.
** Special Notes **
I have the new slim-line PS2.
I use -R blank DVDs
I'm also using Swap Magic 3.6 with a new lid installed on my PS2.

Just backed this up last night. Made one coaster with DVD Decrip. same as first post. I was able to get it the second time by:
1)Use Apache 3 to create an ISO
2)Use DVD Deciptor to burn ISO
It worked for me anyway. Hope this helps.

well I dont know if its just me, but I rebuilt the game following the steps listed above exactly, and I get the game to load, but it is very choppy, and it takes me about 5 minutes to just get to the start screen. Then when i got to the main menu to try and run the story part of the game, the first level wont load, but I can hear the sounds from the level cutting in and out, while my screen is frozen with the thing on there, I let it go for about 30 minutes and when I came back it was still at the same screen... Could it be something I did wrong in the process?

to me that sounds more like a media problem.
If you use cheap or no-name brand media that can cause
problems with loading times and audio/video.
What brand and speed DVD's did you use?
What speed are you burning it at?
To be honest i was really looking forward to getting that
game. When i did i wish i would have not wasted a DVD
burning it. Also the game doesn't need to be rebuilt.
Unlike what gamer200 said, 95% of the games out there do
not need to be rebuild. Most are just a simple read and write.

That's true that most games don't have to be rebuilt. However, if the game images come close to 4 gigs, I find that rebuilding the games provides a better playback and higher success rate in accomplishing the duplication task the first go around.
If the act of rebuilding games wasn't meant to be, then the software to do it wouldn't be made available. It was from this exact forum that I learned of the process to rebuild games to start with. I just provide the way I do it. When it comes to the IML conversions, some do it in DOS, but I find that the IML2ISO software is easier for newbies.
This morning, I made a copy of X-Men Legends 2. The rebuilding process was not needed. I simply extracted the dnas300 file from the /modules folder, patched it, then injected it back into the game's image, finally, burning it with DVD Decrypter. The game loads smoothly, and from my first moments of game play, all seems well. The game also passed the DNAS checker for online multiplay.
I've never knocked the simple "rip and burns" of games, but everyone should atleast be made aware of the back door to getting their games to work.

Yeah that's ture gammer it's cool to rebuild your game but i would only go thru that process A. if im still using swap magic 2.0. B. if the game is larger than 4.5gb. C. If i was running games of HDD which i am because rebuilding it saves you more space on the HDD. and last but not least D. TIME to stay on a computer for about 30mins for one game well it kinda sucks but if you want a easier way to rebuild your games then look

DVD Decrypter
That's all you need
1.Open decrypter to iso read to put the game iso on hard drive
2.open the game with apache point to the game on you left thatlooks like a CD image right click it and hit extract all
3.When thats done open cddvdgen click new project then click dvd-rom master disc put the game files in the same order that apache had them go to volume and where it say Disc name you put for ex.(SLUS *****)
after that go to producer name put in PLAYSTATION and where it say Licence Area i pick america. Ater that go to file at the top on cddvdgen and click Export iml file it will ask you to save on your HDD you can put a short name of the game click save and that's it for cddvdgen close it
4. Go back to apache go to file on the top and click Import iml file then you should see on your right all the file of the game then go back to file and click build ISO and there you go wait for it to finish and burn it to a dvd-r
It's pretty much the same thing that gammer does but no need for an extra program apache does the job of isobuster and IMLISO and it cuts out the record part for cddvdgen and the no need for puzzle pieces but like i said close to the same thing

Or Nero if no single file is over 2GB
If you have ISO Buster and Nero: by MinnWild at modchipzone
Step 1.
Decrypt the ps2 game to your hard drive using dvd decryptor.
Step 2.
Open up Isobuster and load in the image file.
Step 3.
Hold shift and highlight all the game files and put them in a folder.
Step 4.
Open up Nero burning rom and create a new UDF/ISO dvd (It's the last one in the list). Drop all the game files into Nero in the same order as it is listed in Isobuster. Just keep Isobuster open as a reference when you do this. Nero will change the order of the files graphically, however they burn in the order that you dropped them in.
Step 5.
Name the image and burn it at 4x.
Step 6.
Presto, you've rebuilt and burned a PS2 game. Play it.
i am well aware that some games need to be rebuilt.
But not many. And most people's problems stem from bad media
and burning speed. Not that they didn't rebuild it.
If it needs rebuilding then they will know because it will
not load at all, or only to the loading screen. I understand you are
just trying to help out, but putting someone, especially a
newbie, through that whole process when it doesn't need to be done
is making a lot more work for them then is needed.
In the last few years i have rebuilt about 5-6 games out of 100's.

Yeah that's true before i got my HDD i only rebuild about 4 games that needed it. But steimy what version Nero do you use because all of them doesn't work i think i had some version i forget and it didn't work but when i DL 6.6.0.3 it worked fine

I use verbatim DVD-R burning at 2x, so I dont think its the media, unless Im mistaken verbatim is usually a good quality brand. Could it be just a bad rip of the original game?

Let's define "newbie", because I'm surely not one. Let's see, I'm 35 years old. Hacked into my first computer, being that of an local airport at the age of 16, with a simple Radio Shack Color Computer 3. From there, humm, I mastered the TRS-80, to the richest of the Commodore 64 software applications. Wo and behold, the 8088 class computer came out, and I was already using the Copy 2 PC Option Board to duplicate games. Moving onward, the 386, 486, and finally the Pentium series came out. In the meantime, I was duplicating Atari, Color Computer 1, 2, & 3, the original Nintendo, Sega, and the Sega Genesis series of games. Yeap, even those cartridge based games were a simple copy. I was on every BBS out there giving every tip possible to master the duplications.
If it's 0's and 1's, well, me and my Assembler programming background get along well with software, and the means of hacking codes. With each software package, game based or not, there is always more than one way to get it duplicated.
True, I can see that showing the shortest route can be more worthy of the solution at hand. However, folks shouldn't be treated like a horse, and have to wear blinders to keep from seeing other means of accomplishing the same task. As far as a "newbie" goes, think twice before you 2nd guess my technique and method of presentation. To me, the internet is nothing but 0's and 1's, and with every digit is a key to do as I please.
If this particular thread was the "cure" for the common "game copy", I wouldn't be bombarded with e-mails daily asking for additional assistance. But, that's my love of this game, helping others achieve something new. Every kid road his/her first bike. No matter how the trade was learned, there was some special techniques acquired, outside of just getting on and hoping for the best. So, when I present a newbie with some indepth material, it's only to present the ultimate of situations and methods to accomplish the task. Everything else then becomes a minor event when it comes to this area, being that of the PS2 and the marvel of duplicating it's games.
Today's generation of youth is spoiled. Everything is "point and click." Try existing in the world of DOS alone. Then, let's talk newbie.

Steimy's option with Nero Decrypter & Iso Buster worked great for this game and what very easy to do...
MY ? now is, can I do this with all games that need to be rebuilt as long as there ISN'T a Dummy.bin file correct?
I know on some games the TOC is just too large because of the DUMMY.BIN file
or could I do it the same just replace the DUMMY.BIN with a empty DUMMY.BIN File?

Good discussion in general, but way too much info just to get Marvel Nemesis to work. That game is pure ass anyway. Not even worth the coaster the original guy made out of it anyway. Horrible controls, awkward camera angles, boring fighting, ho hum story, forgettable characters, you name it. You learn one character's moves, you've learned them all. Then the action portion of it is laughable at best. Not worth the trouble IMHO.

Gamer, I'm pretty sure he wasnt calling you a noob, he was saying that his guide was a little easier for those that are new to the ps2 duplication world. Boasting about your 'accomplishments' is pretty lame in my opinion, 100% uneccessary. Just my 2 cents.

Anyone know what to do when CD DVD Gen won't generate the IML files?
The error message I get: "... less than 5000 sectors"
This is when I click the REC button after entering the SLUS, Producer, America as license area.
