keep getting ps2 833 DNAS error! !!! URGENT HELP!!!

hi htere,
i have a modde ps2 that uses magic v chip. I have a couple of online ntsc games. I patch them correctly with windip (ID inserter doesnt work for some f'ed up reason) and then play them on my modded pal ps2. When it ties to authenticate the DNAS i keep getting an 833 region error. I think it might be because i am using an ntsc game in Australia; a country that uses pal games. However that shouldnt cause any problems. It should still work. can some please help me :-(

No it shouldnt still work, but also i have heard "hard" modded ps2's cant play backups online. You cant play NTSC games on PAL consoles online to my knowledge.

ahhhhh okee dokee. No problem then. Thank you. You were the only person who i could get sense out of. lol. Ur lucky that u live in usa were all the games r NTSC. the majority of the world uses NTSC games. oh well. at least i now know. thanks :)

there is a way round it but it might cost you some money, the newer modchips these days can be switched off, if you have one of those you could also buy swapmagic and the required tool, then wen u wanted to play online u cud just turn your modchip off an boot with swapmagic, and your online with ur backups

well shaunty if he were to do that he still couldn't get online with aan NTSC game on his PAL machine which was the problem in the first place. Also, any of those mods would allow you to play backups online after you patched them so in your example the "swap magic and tools required" would be a total waste of money.
