...any ideas how to burn just one scene from a movie? I have a friend who is giving a speech about teenage suicide and wants to show the suicide scene from "Dead Poets Society".

I'm sure that it's easy to do just a chapter - but I'm trying to just burn a selected scene (ie: from "this point" to "that point"). Any ideas?

Hi there,

You can use DVDShrink in Re-Author Mode.

You select the whole movie, and when you <Right-Click> on it, you can set a Start and End Frame (Or select just 1 chapters).

If he has a scene from a 2nd movie, do the same.
Load the 2nd movie, right click, set start/end.

Then Re-Author !

It will recreate you a new DVD (.ifo/.vob) ready to be burned with your favorite burning software.

And DVDShrink is FREE.

You might need to RIP those movies to your HD 1st with DVD Decrypter, or use tools like DVD43 and/or AnyDVD if those movies are protected.

I'll have to try that when I get home...I figured it was simple, I never tried to do just a scene from a movie. I've gotten quite good at whole movies.

Thank you - If I have any further questions after I get home tonight I'll let you know, or I'll update about how well it went.

Thank you again,
TriZz

Cougar,

Thank you for your help - worked like a charm!! All the way to which frame I wanted to start and end at.

Now - for my friends presentation - should I burn him one on +R and one on -R just to make sure whichever DVD player he's stuck with - he'll be able to view it?

I would burn it onto DVD-R

DVD-R is the standard and pretty much all dvd players will play DVD-R

or if your burner supports Booktyping or Bitsetting you can change the Booktype of a DVD+R to DVD-ROM and that makes the DVD Player think it's play a normal store bought type DVD Disc

Here is a link that will better explain what Bitsetting/Booktype is and how to do it
