Hi, i backup my ps2 games, i used to be able to burn them at 4x with dvd decrypter and it would go 600-700kb', i know its slow but my games worked perfect, one day it just changed and now when i burn my games i have to do 1x and it goes 1300 and the games dont work proply, is there anyway to get this back to 600kb-700kb, also it never used use the bottom left buffer (i think it was memory buffer)and now it does, maybe i can turn the buffer size down? or would that turn the buffer device down? any help on how to get the speeds back down would be appreciated. thanks

Edit: i have also tried different media but it doesnt change. and ive tried different programs but no change either.

does this only happen with PS2 burns? Or for any burns in general? If the latter, I ran into this problem as well.

@LiveSnipe

U can get those CD's that clean the heads of your CD players and u can try that for ur pc's one.

But also that is a valid question. Does it only happen with ps2 games??

Check out this thread, if it sounds like something you're experiencing, then do exactly as Larrylje says. That rectified all my problems. If you need any help with this current dilemma, I can go over it with you in detail via PMs.

WHAT happens though when you are still in DMA mode and you still have buffer jumping issues - I have no idea why my buffer jumps all over the place - the burns have not slowed done excessively - but it does take me about 11/ 12 minutes to brun at 8x now - and for every burn 4x, 6x, 8x, it takes about 3-4 EXTRA minutes to finish - what is that all about?

I know how to check my IDE and the are always still on DMA and I have uninstalled and re-installed them anyways - still same issue - I havent made a big fuss about because my burns are still good - but now that I have run across thes thread - it would be a good time to ask about this.

Like i said in my original thread (the link i provided), things were extremely slow. After I did the reinstallation, all the numbers/speeds went back to normal: DVD5s ripped in 20 minutes, burned in 9 minutes, anad DVD9s ripped in 35-40 minutes and burned in 9-10 minutes.

I've since bought a new burner, a Lite-On DL burner, and now i do those DVD5 and 9s at a fraction of the time. I've run into no coasters yet.

My buffer speeds remain at a constant 100 and 99 (the one on the left and right, respectively).
