Need opinions, is it the DVD media, or the speed I use that made it not working?

djmocok,
Your firmware are 2 behind, the latest is US06. You don't installed firmware, you just download it and save it to your computer. Once it's completed, make sure there is no CD or DVD inside your burner, then just click on the firmware file to run. Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2011 and get it to run. Hopefully it will help your burner to recognize the DL media and able to burn them for you. I've always update my burner's firmware this way when there is a new one available.
I recommend you not to keep on burning DL media, unless you've successfully update your firmware at least to US05 or US06. Otherwise, you'll keep on getting coasters, and that's not a good sign. Here is the Samsung firmware http://www.samsungodd.com/eng/ they're behind one comparing to (forum/rpc1.org).
Just out of cursiosity, can you provided the error log or the successfully burned that DVD Decrypter generated? I would like to take a look at it and see what's wrong, if possible alright.

I downloaded the Samsung live update already, and according to it, I have the latest version (US6), but for some reason, my stupid windows is stuck by displaying it as older one.
But I think it should be the latest one already..
About the log, I didn't have error message, everything was just like normal. eg. saying burn successfully completed, etc etc..
So I am sure there was something wrong with the firmware, or drive itself?
Anyway, according to the live update, its latest one. So I might give it one more go...
Oh and I noticed something weird though, as you know I have 2 drives (1 DVD RW and one normal DVD ROM),
When I access the details from device manager, they both show the same driver date and driver version. (year 2001)
I think this is probably the source or the issue?
Plus the other drive is listed as XJ-HD1665, which technically, suppose the be a LiteON CD-RW, but I have replaced that one with the Samsung DVD-RW (so that CDRW doesnt exist anymore). But what I actually have are the Samsung DVD burner, and (maybe) Sony DVD ROM.

Successful finally!
I think the driver must have been the culprit.
So what I did was, after I installed the new driver from the Samsung website, I bought another Verbatim DL +R.
But I think they have two version. They look identical, but the newer one has a sticker that says burn up to 6X.
Anyway, so I got the newer DVD DL media, and then just used DVD Decrypter ISO-WRITE --> MDS file.
Then it burned automatically, and when it finished, my drive read it as: "gran turismo" in 'my computer', and I was able to access the content of the DVD.
Then just popped it in to PS2, with toxic ver. 1.3--> Dual layer +R enabled, and voila, it works great.
Well, I hope so. So far I've only watched the game demo, but haven't played it yet. But looks like OK.
So thanks to everyone especially Steimy and Alkohol for the lengthy help, You guys rock!
Alright, next stop is God of War! :)

glad to hear you finally got it
sorry it took so many DVD's
I know when i first bought my DVD burner and tried to do
back ups i was having about 75% success and the one's that
didn't work i just couldn't figure out why
the i learned about drivers and searched for an update
once i installed it i was set. I thought it was kind of funny
to have to update drivers on a brand new burner, but oh well
it worked and that's all that matters

You're welcome.... and it's good to hear that you've finally made a successfully burned. Yeah... GT4 is a pain in @ss to rebuild, especially for Swap Magic user like me. I haven't tried GOW yet, it's because I don't have that much times to play games anymore, plus works has been keeping me busy.
Anyways, the most recent games I've successfully backed up are:
Medal Of Honor: European Assault
GTA: San Andreas
Hummhhh... I guess I'm a little behind, but it's alright - no times to play them anyways.
