PS2 backup problem

I have been using my PS2 backups without a problem for a couple of weeks now, but yesterday they stopped working (they now freeze within game play). I burned them with alcohol 120 on a philips 8x DVD-R. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

I am also using swap magic and i am wondering if i should buy a mod chip? If so what chip should i buy to solve my problem?

Really depends on the media and what your ps2 prefers. I know that if i burn at 1x games load really slow, but if i burn at 8x they load alot faster but sometimes have some choppiness. Now, i generally burn at around 4x.

Thanks for all the help but i found that the cause of the problem was the labels that i put on the cds. For some reason it was causing read errors with the disk. So moral to the story is dont use the DVD labels that you can buy at the store, or at least i wont use them any more. thanks for all the input though.

Here is a solution to solve your problem: buy printable media and you'll be misery free.

My primary media is genuine Taiyo Yuden 8X DVD+R Silver Inkjet Printable media. You should check out the Taiyo Yuden hub printable, Verbatim hub printable and the Maxell hub printable - all of these are top notch media.

No sticky labels for me....

what's the difference between the white and silver inkjet printable, which looks better? I've got the white ones, would like to know how much different the silver ones look.
