Can get you an idea of the DNA ID code http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/198137 You need to patch it with WINDIP (let's you play backups online) which can be found here: http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20624&postdays=0&posto... You can find the disc id utility & tutorial here: http://forums.psxforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20299&start=4

hi thanks for the reply.

I have the original and I have patched it with the same ID using windip (this is the first online game I am trying to get working online) the problem I have is when I load the game all is fine I can play it but when I try to go online it wont let me select a prfile (this is before the DNAS check) so I thought I would delete the existing profile and create a new one but when I try to create a new one it states that there is an error which could be the username password or email address entered! just as a test without rebooting the playstation I swapped the disk for the original and pressed X and the profile created fine?????

any ideas?
Thanks

Are you playing a PAL version on an NTSC PS2 or vice versa?

Yeah maybe your not patching it correctly. There's no way to be sure it's a problem with the DNA ID's, since you haven't even gotten to the DNA ID check with your backup. Did you patch all the DNA ID's, some games have 2 or 3. Try patching it again and make sure you're using the PAL DNA ID. Shouldn't be an issue since you have the original but check here just to be sure it matches: TOCA Race Driver 2 - PAL/UK (SLES_526.37)
(Size = 4,044,800 Bytes)
Disk ID = XX XX 01 40 64

The ID that from my original is different to the one listed (I think)but then I have tried patching this game a number of different ways i.e.

windip
IDinserter

but still no joy I have yet to get a game working online although I have only ttied two different games maybe I just have to use the originals when I want to play online.

Could it have anything to do with the version of swap magic that I am using or does that not make a difference once the game is loaded?

You are using the ID from your original to patch your backup, right? If you use disc ID with a backup you will get a random series of useless ID numbers. If you're trying to patch it with an ID obtained from the backup, that's definitely the problem. Which version of Swap Magic are you using?

Yeah I don't think that's the problem. You either have 3.3 or earlier. Besides you said your backup is fine except for online play. I don't know I would go back over the Windip guide tutorial again, make sure you got all the DNA ID's patched, double check the original and make sure the ID you recorded was correct. It's probably a small detail you overlooked. Sorry I can't be of more help, but I'm tired and going to bed soon. Good Luck.

OK I managed to get Fifa 2006 working online so maybe it was just toca that is the problem. not to worry I can just use the original to play online.
