Burning downloaded games without file extension?

I have a couple of PS2 DVD games that I have downloaded that do not have a file extension (such as iso) when unrar'd. I am not sure how to burn these. I have tried loading them in DVD Decrypter after renaming them .iso, but it refuses to load them. I try to load them in Nero but it complains about the block size being wrong and asks me whether I want to correct or ignore the issue. If I press ignore and try to burn, the discs don't play ("Not a valid PS2 disc"). If I press correct, I am given options that I don't understand.

Has anyone run into this problem before, and can anyone help me?

type up some file names so i know what you have
Did you just use WinRAR on the first file?
Like game.001
that is the only one you need to do and it will unpack
them all.
You may actually have the game files like slus, system,data
and others

In case someone searches through, I figured it out. What it was was initially a bunch of rar parts (001, etc...) that I unrar'd and got a single file without an extension. *That* file was also a rar file, just unmarked as such. If you use WinRAR, I guess you don't have this problem, but if I changed the file extension to .rar I could then extract the ISO. Though I didn't have one of those problems, thanks for responding steimy :)
