hi peeps.. hope i dont get fried fer this cuz there's so many info about this, but im just too lazy to search. anyways.. first time having a ps2(pretty late i kno), which is scph-50001, so im into burning now, but i have a few questions. just wondering if i should get a network adaptor and hdd, instead/with swapmagic, lols... well i was thinkin bout it, and for the swapmagic i don't want to install a fliptop because.. yea... i would use a slidetool, but does that wreck yer ps2? so that's my only problem with swap magic.. and hdadvance, i dont really need to buy the hdadvance cuz i dled it.. so i would use it with swapmagic.. but just wondering about the hdadvance.. say i have ps2 games on my comp, is it possible to transfer that to my ps2 hdd (if i get one) or do i have to load it from a cd? bcuz then i dont really need to get hdadvance because the reason y i would want one is because i can like just load the games off the hdd and not watste blank cds, and lessen the times i have to swap.. so yeah, those are my only concerns.. would you peeps kno? thanks alot
***lols if its too confusin..
1. do slidecards harm the ps2?
2. can you transfer ps2 games from the comp to the ps2 hdd in order to save blank dvds, and lessen the swapping?
.. and oh yea.. anyone know where the best place (and cheapest) to buy swapmagic disks? thanksss!

yes slide tools do harm ur ps2
u should get hdadvance 3.0 or hdloader because both of them now have a better compatibilty and it supports DVD-9 games

You can only boot a back up of HD advance with an original copy of HD advance or Swap Magic. No the slide card doesn't hurt your PS2 if you're careful. IF you are careless and force the disk tray open it CAN damage your eject motor. Ever thought of using a flip top with Swap Magic 3.6? http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm It works well and you can get them bundled for around $35.

Well the best combo for you since you have a v7 or v9 ps2, would be a hdadvance 3.0 with fliptop from http://www.consoleasia.com They sell the combo for like 40 dollars, but if you want to play straight off the dvd media buy a swap magic with fliptop for 32.99. These are the cheapest and easiest solutions.

Yeah HD advance 3.0 is pretty nifty, offering Dual Layer support. The only other way I know to play DVD-9 games without shrinking them, is with a quality modchip like the Matrix Infinity or DMS 4.
