i'm having a problem with the disc drive in my ps2. When you insert a disc the system automatically ejects it back out without even trying to read it. Does anyone have any idea what could cause this and if it is fixable. I have a fliptop and a ton of burned games and as its one of the "older" non slim models i'd have to buy a new fliptop as well if i got a new system. Thanks for your help!

could the button be stuck a little
or the eject ribbon may be pinched or crimped in the case
did it work fine after the flip top install and then
one day just start doing this?

i put the flip top on almost a year ago and it just started this the other day...also i took the flip top off after it started to see if i could see anything so i would think if it were the cable being crimped this would have fixed that?
