I just got a new ps2 that I moved the switches so I can use Swap magic 3.6 and it wont recongnize the Magic disc. Im thinking this is a new version. Can anyone confirm this? Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

I know how the switches work, I've done it on another pstwo. Its a brand new system, everything works except the copy of the magic 3.6

Then maybe it's a defective Swap Magic. Again does it read originals? Does either the Swap Magic CD or DVD load? If you don't tell me anything then it's a little difficult to help you.

The disc Im using its the same one I've used on other systems, so I know the disc works and I know its not scratched. The switches are correct because I played an original game with the lid up and it did load and work normally. Somehow this machine is not recognizing the magic discs. It has to be a new version. Any suggestions? The magic 3.6 is an original disc. Its not being picked up by the ps2. Hope you or anyone else can help me.

Yeah there have been some issues with bad presses of SMD. Maybe your laser is dirty. Are you using the original flip top that came with your PStwo or one you installed? There have been some issues with the flip top lid for the PStwo, namely when it's not fastened securely and the PS2 laser think's it is open. This can be caused by the screws not being tight enough at the bottom. There is an alternative mod developed by Pretense invlolving tape and tissue: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button
