IF you got them from rima.com, i can tell you that they ARE GENUINE TYs...the reason i say this is, by the media ID code that you posted AND the number on the hub (which by the way is the incorrect hub number, there is ANOTHER number on there that is laser inscribed, not etched, slightly further OUT from the hub number you gave) :)
it WILL start with "GG", the number that follows will be in this format :GG00xxxx (where xxxx is the BATCH NUMBER of when those discs were produced in the Taiyo Yuden factory)
you simply posted up here the WRONG hub numbers, look carefully, perhaps since YOURS are hub printable, it is covered by the white coating, so you can't see them; but, nevertheless, i have had MORE THAN ENOUGH experience with Taiyo Yudens to tell you that this hub number you gave is the "other" number that TYs have on them~ :)

don't worry, you got the "real deal" or as i would put it, the "good stuff"~

Hi
I'm about to buy some TY's, not sure if they're MIJ or not, on the site I was looking at it just looks like they are shrink wrapped. My question is when I go into the store can I tell if they are real ones just by the hub number? I've been reading and I have seen TY's with the GG,G and TG on the hub and they say they're real ones...are these the only letters to look for or are there any other ones?
Thanks

@komodo
which site are you referring to? or are you talking about a brick-n-mortar physical store that you can walk in to look for media? even if they are tape wrapped (authentic Taiyo Yudens DO come in tape wrapping), chances are you will faintly see the inner hub coding on the top, if at all~ (they're hard enough to see in the light, let alone under the some stores' poor lighting conditions...unless you got really good eyes, which i don't LOL) :)
but as to the authenticity of them (taiyo yudens)...yes, the inner hub coding will determine if they are genuine or not...
quick recap:
4x DVD-R : GD000xxx
8x DVD-R : GG000xxx
16x DVD-R : GH000xxx
8x dvd+r: TG000xxx
16x dvd+r: TH000xxx
without these inner hub codings, they are FAKE Taiyo Yudens...oh, and the "xxx" i mention are numerical values...such as 123,456, etc...the newer batches could have something like "TG001234" for example~ :)
if you have any more questions about TYs and authenticity, come to my thread here and i'll be more than happy to help ya out

@henryting
while i have not PERSONALLY ever used that MID coded media before, i will say that if you or anyone you know has never heard of it before, chances are it's not very good quality... :)
secondly, e-blue uses many other manufacturers for their branded media...of which is our best friend, CMC MAG, in the CMC MAG. AE1 flavor :) LOL
and if their 4x rated media is ANY indication of their newer 8x media, i would def. stay away...very poor manufacturers including NANYA, CMC again, and Philips (which i don't find to be even DECENT quality personally) :)
this is only MY opinion of the discs...take it with a grain of salt.
