I have a download that is an .mpg but what do I play it with and also a file with an extension mpeg4 ...does it need a special program or extra drivers. Thank you.

Mpeg4 is DivX/XviD

Try loading the file(s) into Nero Vision Express 3, should be able to convert to dvd and burn through there. takes about 2 hours but works good :)
