I used dvd shrink and then used dvd dycrypter to burn a copy of a dvd to disk....When I tried the new dvd on the cpu it worked fine...when I tried it on my dvd payer it gave me a disk error...I am using Maxell DVD+R disks..My dvd player is an older model Toshiba SD-1009 model..Should I use a different type of disk??

Try a DVD-R
Not sure if this is your problem but there is a good chance it is.

Also check to see that your firmware is up to date.

You can use DVD Decrypter to get the model # and FW version of your burner.
