usb dvd drive??

I heard that you can use a usb cd/dvd drive with a ps2. i was wondering if it would show up in the ps2 default browser window and also if i could use it to install games onto the hdd in Toxic OS since I have a dms mod chip. the reason i want to do this is so i can use cd-rw/dvd-rw disk in my ps2 because my ps2 wont read my RW disks. Please help me.

PS. if i cant use it this way then is there an exploit or something i can use that will make it show up in the default ps2 browser?
