Can somebody please tell me which are the best disk to use for copying PS2 games.

I have a PS2 console with a fliptop lid and Swap Magic.

I have tried several different types of disks. Some won't play at all, and those that do play, play in B&W.

I have used DVD Decrypter to copy original games, and I have also downloaded several games and used Nero or DVD Decryper to write them to disk.

Would appreciate all suggestions.

TIA

Kind Regards,

The Cobra

A thought on the black & white thing - is it because they're downloaded USA/Japan (NTSC) games and your TV is Pal only? What TV do you have?

I'd already thought about that, but some of the games are direct copies from new (PAL) games, either borrowed from friends or rented.

My copies were hit and miss til I bought a new dvd writer. This improved my success rate to 75%. I would like to make it 100%.
It could be down to media or the write speed.
I have been told that you should burn at x1 but the slowest it will go is x2.4. Is this this decided by the media or the writer?

Usually the writer. Although it can sometimes be the programs used. What program are you using to burn them?

I recommend:

Disc:
Verbatim DataLife Plus (DVD-R) 1x-8x
Verbatim DVD-R 1x-8x

Program:
DVD Decrypter (Latest one is best)

Burner:
Good Brands like Sony, Panasonic, etc.. Avoid using Pioneer because Verbatim DataLife Plus won't burn using Pioneer burner.

Sony PS2 (Playstation 2) Slimline (V12) GH-035-71
Sony Playstion 2 Region: NTSC (North America - USA and Canada)
DVD-/+R: Verbatim DVD-/+R 1x-8x 4.7GB MCC and PRO-DATA DVD-R 4x 4.7GB
DMS4 Lite Modchip + ToxicBIOS Ver. 1.3 + Possible Fix
Dual Shock Controller
Dual Shock 2 Controller
8MD Memory Card

Burner: Sony DVD RW DW-D26A
Software: DVDDecrypter, Nero, and Alcohol 120%

TDK, pricy but they work good, espically on older models with dying lasers
