I've backed-up quite a few dvd's by now, but I wouldn't say that I'm a pro or anything. Here's what happened; I burned Chord Solo Guitar Vol. 1 no problem. Then I put in Chord Guitar Vol. 2 and the dvd burner didn't even recognize it. It said that I had no disc in the drive. I then tried to put Vol. 1 in again and it worked, so I know it has something to do with the disc. Oh yeah, Vol. 2 played on my home dvd player too, so I don't know what the problem is. Can someone please HELP?!?

could be the encryption on the second vol. is different can you at least play vol2 on pc? if so try using dvdfab decrypter to rip it to files then with shrink open those files and do your thing. or try any dvd from slysoft a free trial is available here on the site.

knt406 ,
Welcome to the forum. Try this as it works sometimes as some peoples computer need a kick sometimes. Reboot the computer and then try to read the disk.

knt406,
Take the disc to another computer and try ripping it there. If it rips there then the problem is w/ your system. If it does not rip then it might be the lead-in that the computer uses from the disk to start the read.

OK... Here's the update on this.
For some reason, now my dvd burner is reading the disc; but still, the DVD Shrink is not reading the disc for some reason. Do you have any more suggestions?

is the disc scratched or dirty?clean the disc with disc cleaner or alcohol.if scratched, use disc repair solution.it definitely sounds like the disc is the problem.your burner might also benefit from a firmware update.my burner was having trouble reading discs.even though they were backups that wouldnt read too well,i noticed that when i updated the firmware that all media read better.if you have the latest firmware then reinstalling the firmware might do the trick.but read all directions carefully when installing firmware.anytime you flash something(which is how firmware is installed)you take a risk in destroying it.but its not as bad as it sounds.

You can also try another prog such as DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter.

i should have said this earlier, but just because the disc registers on your computer doesnt mean there isnt anything wrong with the disc.you had problems with the disc registering before you ran it thru shrink so its most likely the discs readabilty thats the problem.
