I have 6 of my pack of ten (so far) that are coasters. They will not burn a workable copy of a good DVD. The Lightscribe label part works but the media is not working in my HP Laptop writer. Four bucks is a bargain if they work in your burner...I paid $16.00 for my pack of ten!!!

UPDATE: Maybe those DVD blanks are a great deal after all!! I have had Success!! Downloaded chipset and program updates from HP ..AND...installed ASPI...then did a burn with my last of 10 blank Verbatim Lightscribe media at 2.4X. Copy is perfect. Not sure which one or two things made the difference. Since had only one blank handy I wanted to try everything. Personally I think it was the ASPI install. Cheers.

i have a LaCie LS drive.. i use both.. cds and the dvdrs by verbatims..

i checked the staples site.. and i did find lightscribe.. but i found the hp brand.. made by Khypermedia.

i'm not sure if that's good or not..

its a 25 pack of CDrs for 17.99...

the 30 pack of verbatims cdrs are normally $20usd at bestb buy.. so for $3 usd more.. you get 5 more discs but much better quality.

@clu05: I work at Staples in Canada myself :)

We have a 10 back of DVD verbatim lightscribes for 20 bucks. Not bad really, but sometimes instant rebate sales make them 15. Still not bad, but I prefer my inkjet printable verbatim DVD's.
