I use alcohol 120% to burn my naruto 2 iso for ps2.I set the thing to burn at 2x speed,i set it for ps2 in options,i burn the iso with dvd+r Verbatim disc,And i have a V7 ps2 beileve. What is wrong,i do these things and my naruto 2 game doesnt work.Im using Swap Magic 3.6,and i can only burn dvd+r disc. When i burn the image it takes only a good 6-7 minutes,it speeds up to 2.3x speed or somtimes 2.5x.What can i do?,should i try a different program or what? Before i use the find image feature on alcohol, its a easy cd creator image file, but when i import it to alcohol its becomes a standard image file.I hope that effect anything.

Yes, it should not take long. That is a small ISO
Most are around 3-4GB and they only take about
15-20 minutes. I have not used alcohol, but have had great
luck with DVD Decrypter. If your discs are 8X then you may
even want to try burning them at 4X.
2X is good for 4X speed DVD's

My burner seems to only support 2.4x with dvd decrypter,Alcohol it burns 2.4x. .It wont go faster then that no matter what I do.Im using 8x discs.Should i get 4x discs and maybe that will fix the problem?or am i screwed when it comes to backing up games?EDIT*My burner burns at the speed of 2.4x max speed.Ignore teh 2.5 stuff. What discs use 2.4x +R media work with swap magic, ill use those instead of 4x.Would Fuji discs work?

Try TDK, Maxell, Taiyo Yuden, Sony, or Phillips. I've heard some users have had success with Fuji Film DVD-R's, but in general they don't seem to be used frequently. Maybe try 2x on a 4x DVD+R as Steimy suggested. Also try DVD Decrypter instead of Alcohol. Here's a guide: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html

What kind of burner do you have? Is your firmware up to date? Check your manufacturer's site for firmware updates. If you can't find it post and I'll help.

Go to My computer. Right click your DVD drive, go to properties then hardware then double click your DVD burner and this should tell you what the make and model is.

Hey take down your email before the moderator sees it, it's against forum rules to post your email address. You can find your firmware and instructions here: http://etna.rpc1.org/nec/

I'm not really sure why it burns at 2.4x. I'd say trust your instincts. You know your burner better than I do. You did update your firmware, right? Keep me posted on how it goes.

Yeah that's confusing as hell. Basically I think he's saying to burn the bootdisk with the firmware to a CD-R and boot it from the CD-R. Why that requires a Hexadecimal editor I don't know. Yeah don't attempt to flash your burner unless you are %100 sure what you're doing. A bad flash without backing up your current firmware can ruin your DVD burner. You shouldn't need to upgrade to the most current firmware to burn correctly anyway.

But dude, the iso itself is to big to fit on cd-r,did you guys want me to shrink it,or did you mean dvd in the first place?

No I was talking about upgrading your firmware. Of course the iso is too big to fit to CD-R, it's a DVD-ROM. Forget about upgrading your firmware, it shouldn't be necessary anyway. Keep trying to burn with DVD Decrypter, you'll get it one of these times.
