I'm having a problem with games that only come in one file. When they're downloading, it shows that they are smaller than 4.7 gig and everything is working fine. When I go to extract the file in WinRAR, it shows the size is larger than 4,000,000,000. The extraction will go up to 99% and then I get an error saying that the file is too large. Is there any way around this??

Well, you have 2 options:
1. format your hd for ntfs (you have fat32 that doesn't support files over 4gigs).
2. Don't download games and just get the image off the original disc (which gets arount the 4 gig restriction).

Sorry to ask another question, but how do i format my hd for ntfs? Also, does it matter if the hd is external or internal?

you can format it from disk management in XP (im not sure if it erases the drive when doing it from here, so backup any info that you need from it).

if you format it will erase all data no questions about it. a third option would be to convert to ntfs instead of formatting. Go to the command prompt and type the following.

convert driveletter /fs:ntfs press enter

drive letter = c: d: e: etc. whatever the drive that you wanna convert is.

I'd suggest backing up important data before doing this just in case.
