I've been reading for three days in many forums and I can't make out how on earth can I play Backup games with action replay max evo and slimline PS2.
Can someone give me a guide.
I don't want to use swapmagic.
I'm trying with cogswap.elf but I can't make out what exactly should I do.
Please if someone has done it help me.

You can't plat Backups with AR Max. Believe me, I've tried everything. However if you have the Cogswap loader look here http://www.swapmagicfix.com/cogswaploader.html

yes you can:

FOR SLIM PS2
1.Load ar max with memory card in slot 1 to load codes.

2.open ps2 lid and put in swap magic disc let it load and then either let the AR MAX select the previous codes you had on before or select the codes you want manualy.

3. after you have done this press start with selected codes. and let the AR MAX save, just after is says 'loading game' take memory card out and swap magic should load.

4. put in backup in ps2 and press X to load backup when you get into title screen for your chosen game put in memory card to load game. you should have the codes enabled now.

and make sure you have the latest swap magic 3.6, that does make a diffrence. you dont need any silly DVD loaders or CD loaders just folow these steps and you will be fine.

I suppose that except from Swap magic 3.6 I'll have to apply the magic switches as well, but unfortunately thats exactly what I'm trying to prevent, since my PS2 slimline is one of the newest with the metal clip in the spot where the C tools comes in and I don't want to open it ,to apply tape or something else because I dont want to lose my warranty.

you can get the slim tools for the new sliver versions. instead of magic switch. thats what i use.
