Very simple process.
I use AnyDVD to crack it and CloneDVD 2 to rip it to my hard drive
I then use DVDShrink to compress it and Nero to burn it. Worked on more than one Computer.

Just use DVDFABDecrypter and then use DVDShrink

When it sounds too good to be true, it usually is!!

sfj70,

The reason Shrink will not work is because of the previews. The main movie will only compress as far as 98% or so. Blank out the previews using VobBlanker. They are found in the following VTS: 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 18. There are also some cells in VIDEO_TS.VOB that you can blank out, but I forget which ones, so do not mess with that unless you know what you are doing.

You should be able to get the main movie at 100% and the extras at around 60% and it will be fine. If there are still problems, then you can always re-rip the main movie with DVD Decrypter in IFO Mode. Skip the first 22 cells of Chapter 1 as those are garbage or protected.

Then when it is finished, load VTS_02_0.IFO into IFOEdit and strip the audio streams you willnot need. When it is finished, it will also correct the VOB so that you can import it into DVD Shrink, but do not do this yet. Move the new VTS_02 into the original folder you ripped. Then open VIDEO_TS.IFO in IFOEdit and press "Get VTS Sectors". This will correct the sector addresses of the IFOs.

If you did not blank out the preview, do it now. Then import it ino DVD Shrink. Compress the Extras enough so that the main movie is at 100% then move the slider some more so that you are using 4400MB or less. Process the movie and you will be finished.

Read my posts in these threads for more details on using IFO mode to rip these movies:

After reading posts here and elswhere, I realized there was probably a solution to my problems trying to copy BEWITCHED & SPANGLISH with the new copy protection. I tried a bunch of the program solutions I read about here, but nothing was working at first.

DVDFAB kept locking up and crashing as soon as the BEWITCHED disc was in the drive, but seemed to work on other movies.

Finally, I tried AnyDVD. At first, I didn't think that it worked and I couldn't figure out how I was supposed to use the program. Then, I read a post about it "running in the background."

Sure enough, I ran DVDSHRINK and copied BEWITCHED very fast with AnyDVD running in the background. Does anybody know if any other the other decrypters work the same way as AnyDVD running in the background? Perhaps, one of the other solutions would have worked if I had been familiar with the way they integrate with other programs like DVD Shrink.

Somebody here said they were able to use DVD Decrypter, but I'll bet they also had a program like AnyDVD and weren't aware that it was running in the background making it possible. DVD DECRPTER will NOT copy the new sony dvd protection by itself!

ANYDVD is amazing! I have NEVER been able to copy a movie with DVD Shrink that fast before! It's like giving my DVD Shrink and Nero some steroids! I am on the trial version now, but I will be paying for this program once it ends unless somebody can tell me about a better option.

Does anybody like any decryter better than AnyDVD? I am open to ideas, but obviously, I am very impressed with this software. I just wish it was free. ;-)

I just read some responses to my other posts. According to others, the latest version of DVDFab has been updated to work on this new type of copy protection.

Also, another person reported that DVD43 has been updated to crack the new sony copy protection on these same movies. And, apparently, DVD43 is free!

gibsonm3the bottom line is you get what you pay for the free programs work to a point and if you have the time

on the other hand CloneDVD 2 with anydvd will do any movie out there everyday of the week period with NO problems ,this is the combo i use BECAUSE i DONT have the time to screw with trying to get the free programs to work on the hard to copy dvds that come out

so its your choice ,but 59 bucks for CloneDVD 2 with anydvd to me is a steal

I have realized that although AnyDVD is a great program, DVD43 seems to work just as well for free! Both programs appear to help other decrypter & copy programs with the new copy protection on DVD movies. However, AnyDVD & DVD43 appear to conflict with each other, so I had to dump my trial version of AnyDVD to test out DVD43.

By the way, I just backed up "Christmas With The Kranks" using an old version of DVD XCopy with DVD43 running in the background. It worked great and DVD43 is FREE!!! DVD43 also works with DVD Shrink. AnyDVD is great, but when a free program works, I will use it every time.

IMHO my buddies and I after a couple of years
of "amending" movies, a lot depends on the master
disk you're doing the "authoring" on. Thats why
different programs work for different people.
Anyone else feel this way????

I disagree IMHO. Perhaps, because I have always used good quality discs like Ritek & other brands, I have only had a bad disc about 1 in 500. But, I also leave my PC alone while it's burning (no multi tasking).

However, I have read that certain blanks are not compatible with certain dvd drives. But, I have never experienced it.

Also, my backup problems ALWAYS occur in the READING or DECRYPTING stage of the process and nearly never (1 in 500) in the burning stage.

In that case, fbj65, you may be right. But, saying a lot depends on the source disc is pretty vague.

But, I have read that certain disc are not compatible with certain drives. I copy from an NEC dvd drive to a Pioneer dvd drive. Every once in while, when I have a problem backing up a movie, I simply switch the source and target discs to the Pioneer drive for the entire process and the problem is solved.

I wonder if this is a simple compatability problem with the disc and the dvd drive. Perhaps, fbj65, you were wondering if there is a compatability issue between the copy software and the source disc. Or, maybe there is an issue between the copy software and the drive itself. Even some retail sold movies will not play in some home dvd players (rare). This could also be a compatability issue. Of course, saying that there is a compatability issue is pretty vague. ;-)

I had a similar problem as djmatrix did, with the movie ( Bewitched ) showing up blank till near the end few chapters. But really only the last few chapters worked you could not go back to a lower chapter they just seemed as if they were not there.

But, my real problem is that I have the original! Am I not allowed to watch a movie that was paid for? That is ridiculous!!!! SONY needs to get their head out of there you know what. I have this movie I can shove in there too...

I was using Power DVD to watch it, Media player told me I didn't have the digital rights or some crap to watch it (I also have it set to automatically obtain rights, if that matters). BUT THIS IS AN ORIGINAL!!!! HELLO SONY, What is the deal, please.......

Well anyways I then tried to watch it with DVD43 (some older version) and it did not work so I installed DVD43 3.7.0.113 and now it works!!! So Yay I can finally watch this stupid movie. I wish I could sue Sony for the time I lost just to get an original to work. There is no reason I should have ever had to go through this.

So making a backup should work also now. Hope this helps someone.
