I posted recently that I am hunting for a decent resource for Verbatim DVD+R. I may have found one. www.mediasupply.com has 100 packs for $45.00. Not bad. I bought some on Thursday night and they arrived at my home today (Monday). Of course, they are in the same state, but still that's pretty fast. They also carry Taiyo Yuden (sp?) but they are more like 56 cents each. Just thought I'd let folks that gave me advice know I found something, and let other searchers know of this resource.

are the verbs branded? do they have the verbatim labels on them?
and i'm sure somebody can find you the correct codes that the dvds need to have in order to verify the authenticity.

the Verbs, IF you got the real ones, LOL, will be 8x DVD+R MCC003 coded and the 16x DVD+R MCC004 coded~ :) give them a run through dvd identifier and let us know IF they coded out as i stated above~ :)
for Verbatims, yeah, that is a decent price, but, is STILL pricey as local stores when they have sales on Verbatim, it's usually about $0.40/each or 100 pack/$40 or 50 pack/$20 or 25 pack/$10~ :)
Taiyo Yudens are MUCH cheaper @ supermediastore.com and i can GUARANTEE you they are 100% authentic~! other reputable places for TYs include meritline.com and rima.com~ :) pricing between those 3 online retailers vary during their frequent "sales"...they compete among themselves for YOUR business~
also, newegg has it too~ the Verbatims i mean..even cheaper than what YOU paid for them...with the rebate of course, which i do not like personally~

but, yeah, the whole point of finding "good deals" on media is to basically exhaust ALL the options...keep searching...

I'll stick to Bestbuy!!
I use Sony or TDK. I like sony better so far.
It has taken a long time to discover the many different ways to burn, scan, ripp, download, cut, paste and protect.
Never give up on new ways and new solutions

you be better off sticking with the Sony branded ones...i HATE TDKs, just personal opinion, but, Sony 8x DVD+R MADE IN JAPAN = YUDEN000T02 coded genuine Taiyo Yudens, some of THE very best~ :)

Thanks for the tip,
I have been using TDK recently and I am not that happy with them.
Another Question, I went to the Sony DVD Burner site and it said to use only sony DVD-R? Do they just want you to buy into that or what?

mattn1979 if it supports ONLY dvd-r i would look around a get one that supports both formats dvd-r and dvd+r ,sounds like an older burner .and yeah they just want you to buy sony lol any dvd-r should work Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim being the best brands to get. good blank media and your burn speed (4X max.) is whats important

@matt
don't believe "the hype" sony says to convince you to buy their OWN media, that's how ALL these companies operate, naturally they would suggest THEIR OWN media/accessories/stuff just to get more of your hard earned $$$~ :)
but, sony IS good quality media...especially in the 8x DVD+R format MADE IN JAPAN ones :P
but, yes, DO TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION what aabbccdd said, IF you have an older Sony that is ONLY DVD-R format compatible, then naturally, you can ONLY use the DVD-R media~ but, if your Sony supports different formats, then it's solely up to you which to buy, either the DVD-R or the DVD+R :)
lastly, join the club, i DESPISE TDK and you seem to be having issues with them too~ :) at least you are man enough to admit it and i respect that LOL :)

Did you happen to look at the link? The ad specifically states Authentic.
If it is authentic then I would think that it is a good buy.

I wouldn't buy ¡¡squat!! from Shop4Tech .. It just might not be what they say it is ... even if it was ½ the price of everywhere else
also
I've never heard of a Sony writer that only supported the -R format ... now a Sony writer that only supported the +R format is something else .. after all, Sony and Philips pioneered the +R format in it's early days ... just an afterthought
