Where do these so called glitches show up: Viewing them on a tv with a stand alone player or viewing them on the PC?

I am using Memorex DVD+R.
Use this free tool to ID those memosux discs:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd-r_tools/dvd_...

Media quality is usually the culprit. Memosux likes to throw in cmags into their brand name.Cmags is a low quality manufacturer on the majority of their media and stand alone players can be sensitive to the low quality crap.

That MID code should narrow down the problem.Look for a MID code something like:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Unique Disc Identifier : [DVD+R:CMC MAG-E01-000]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Disc & Book Type : [DVD+R] - [Not Available]
Manufacturer Name : [CMC Magnetics Corp.]
Manufacturer ID : [CMC MAG]
Media Type ID : [E01]
Product Revision : [Not Specified]
Blank Disc Capacity : [2,295,104 Sectors = 4.70 GB (4.38 GiB)]
Recording Speeds : [1x-2.4x , 4x , 6x-8x]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
[ DVD Identifier - http://DVD.Identifier.CDfreaks.com ]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

This is the MID code of some +8x memosux that a buddy of mine gave me,some buddy aye! This media has to be burned slower and at a reduced backup target to burn ok.But after that, certain stand alones have trouble reading these dreaded cmags from my benqs, UGGH!

How much compression did you use? And did you use deep analysis and adaptive error compensation?

im viewing the dvd's on a tv with a stand alone player I am using auto compression, and I am using deep analysis, and adaptive error compensation. I just bought some dvd's off ebay last night and was wondering if taiyo yuden is a good make?
and by the way I am using dvd shrink to dvd nero and both are updated versions.

TY's are highly recommended on this site. How fast are you burning and what is your target size? Try burning at 2X with those CMC's and set target size at 4200. If they aren't CMC's you can step up to 4X and target size fo 4300.

That's where those issues usually show up. Ok,now view one of those backups on your pc,using using the same DVD-RW drive that burned it. Look for the skipping while you view it on your pc.You may also want to try a backup or 2 on some other stand alones to verify how they play them.

Ebay media? There's a lot of fake tys out there, and not recommended to purchase dvd media through ebay.Lots of horror stories.Make sure the seller is reputatable. Some of them will post disc ID logs/pie-pif error scans.Look for the sellers who know what they are selling and know how to use them! Also check their feedback and their past reviews and comments.

Those ty's can be faked. The program I listed will ID those discs, but there are ways around faking that MID code. You'll have to look on the back-dye side of disc- for a code like TGXXXXX if they are authentic tys.

Also check and see if you need to defrag your hard drive.Dvd backups can put a toll on the harddrive.

Try slowing it down and reducing your target size a bit and see if it helps.
