just use Nero, I use it copy all my games
Select Copy Disc and put in ethier a blank DVDR or a CDR depending on the disc the game is on (if the bottom is gold or sliver looking, it is a DVD game and should be put on a DVDR for best results even if you can fit it on a cdr. Putting a DVD based game on to a CDR requires you to patch the disc so when checked by the console, it says that it is a DVD even though it is a cdr. It also requires you to alter the image which means the copy of the disc is not exactly like the original disc any more and can cause problems with booting it.) (If the bottom is blue, then you can put it on to a cdr. But you have to find a way to boot the game(try using the cog swap trick if you don't have a mod chip installed) since the PS2 doesn't just look for a boot file in a certian sector of the disc,(like the Dreamcast does which made it easy to make a self booting game, the hard part was ripping the games)it also looks for errors that the company puts on the disc. The company puts the errors on the discs so it can't be just copied and poped into the console. The errors are burned into the game so when the disc is read by a computer, it doesn't make a dirrect copy of the error, the computer tries to correct/remove the error and when the console reads the backup, it doesn't find the correct error in the program that is sayed to be on the disc by the boot program, this is how the console knows if it is a copy or an original. When the Original is inserted, it finds all the correct errors in the corret places and boots.
