DVD Shrink is a resource hog. For best results close any progs running in the background that are not necessary. Don't multitask, especially when burning, and that includes posting in this forum. LOL

You cant get it over 4X thats strange? I have an external sony and it is not a problem. Choose for less Quality in the screen before you burn it if it is too slow!

It has taken a long time to discover the many different ways to burn,scan,ripp,download,cut,paste and protect.
Never give up on new ways and new solutions

Wow...simple as it gets! I tried to alter the Registry with no luck (I am not all that computer savvy) but no luck - Uninstalled the Secondary IDE and re-booted and I am burning again at about 30 minutes a disc! Thanks folks

Dang, and I thought movies were boring!

@bilit:

Have you installed any new proggies lately? Might be interfering with DVD Shrink or incompatible with it?

Have you tried a system restore?

billit,
Check your Secondary IDE Channels in Device Manager. Sounds like you are going into PIO Mode. If you are in PIO right click on the affected secondary Ide Channel and uninstall it. Then re-boot and let Windows reinstall the drive properly. If it happens again I would suggest you are getting major conflicts and a registry cleaning might be in order. Google for a free Registry Cleaner and clean the registry as when the OS get 6 conflicts then it down- grades the DMA 1 step until it reaches PIO MOde
