I try to boot shining tears on my ps2 but I never get pass the "Now loading" screen, I tried with the CdLoader, but still the same. I burned it on a DVD-R. I don't really understant why but almost half the time I try to boot a game, instead of loading it, it returns me to ps2 browser and it then say that it's not a valid ps2 game. And sometimes, when loading the swap magic disk, the playstation 2 logo is all messed up. Anyone have any ideas to help? And BTW what is the difference between normal boot and special boot in swap magic menu? Thanks!

Reburn it with better media and/or better speeds. If other backups work, it is pretty clear that this is a disc read problem, which means that you've got a bad burn on your hands.

As for special boot, I have never used it, or needed to use it. It doesn't help for problem games, and it doesn't seem to affect normal games, either. And I've only encountered the "messed up logo" thing with the Swap Magic CD occasionally, though it doesn't seem to affect actual usage once it's loaded. Basically, the Swap Magic discs are not pressed as well as normal discs and are consequently harder to read.
