Hey guys, I just joined up.

I've read the countless "How to copy PS2 Games blah blah" so I know how to copy.

However, I was about to buy the PS2 Slim, and was intending to get a Modchip put in, but it costs $140 AUS (about $110ish US) to install. Therefore, I looked into this site www.customps2.com, and I just want to clear up that all you need to play backed up games (copied) for the SLIM model are:
1. Ghost Switch Set isntalled
2. Swap Magic 3.6 Plus Boot Disc Set
3. DVD Decryptor, and obviously DVD Disks.

I would much appreciate any help given :).

Also, I do realize that this is the "DVD Backup" section, but I was wondering if copying regular "CD" games, would just be same as burning a music CD for example, or should I follow the same process in DVD Decryptor (ISO TO HDD, then WRITE etc).

Also, the guy on the site says it dosn't viod warranty - but I find that stupid considering you have to cut pieces of plastic off the PS2 to use it.

I've also heard that this stuffs up the PS2 laser. Any thoughts?

To play backups on a slim you need magickeys: http://magickeys.net/ a flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop Ghost Switch: http://www.saveware.com/why_the_2_piece_ghost_is_better.htm12/pag... or a tape and tissue mod: Try Pretense's tape and tissue mod explained here: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button). You can pick up Swap Magic bundled with a flip top for $35 USD. DVD Decrypter is the one of the best ways to backup PS2 games: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html Burn at 1x, then 2x, then 4x on a good DVD-R. The newer PS2's seem to have better compatibility with DVD+R's. Copying CD based PS2 games is no different than copying PSX games: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/236278
