Not sure how up to date this list is but:

Mitsubishi (Black Diamond) DVD+R 4x (POMSC001002)
Mitsubishi (Black Diamond) DVD+RW 4x (PRODISC W002 ) Rev00
Mitsubishi (Black Diamond) DVD-RW 2x (OPTODISC W002)

None of them are highly sought after. They could have changed though.

well, that list is OLDDDDDDDDDDD...i never go by it~ it's been outdated for SOME TIME NOW...if you got it from the "stickied" thread up here in the dvd media forum~ :)

anyways, from what i can tell, the Mitsubishi ones are VERY good~ :)

can't say i've used them, but from the updated list i go by...take a look~ :)

Mitsubishi DVD-R 4.7GB MCC 01RG20 4x (MCC baby, good stuff)
Mitsubishi DVD-R 4.7GB MCC 02RG20 8x (there it is again..wow)
Mitsubishi DVD+R 4.7GB MCC.....003 8x (great stuff that I use personally with flawless results)
Mitsubishi DVD+R 8.5GB MKM.....001 2.4x (use THIS DL too, same one as the Verbatims)
Mitsubishi DVD+RW 4.7GB MKM.....A02 4x (another winner)

basically, Mitsubishi manufactures their OWN media...MCC=Mitsubishi Chemicals Corp, a PROVEN winner by ME and many others :) MCC also produces the great quality discs for Verbatim as well~ and on the DLs, MKM is in the family too...all 3 are subsidiaries of each other, one is the parent company, the other 2 are offshoots, just can't remember which one is the parent company that owns the other 2~ LOL...just KNOW it's a big happy family over there w/ Mitsubishi/Verbatim/M*** Kaguku Media (sp?) (sorry, forgot the real name of it)

good stuff Monster, give it a go~

Doc .. MKM Mitsubishi Kagaku Media
and if I'm not mistaken (it's been known to occur) MKM is the company that pioneered DL media ...

and two additions to Doc's list ..
8x Mitsubishi Black Diamond MJC 003
5x Mitsubishi DVD-RAM MXL16

Since K666 provides me with the green light and I will go ahead and give it a try and by the way if anyone has any experiences with A1 Gold dvd blank disk?
I am working in my office now and I will give it a try for mitsubishi and will post the ID for mitsubishi once I get home.
K666,
Do you have any experience using verbatim rw dvd-+ with 2x?
I have tried three of these and I found it it is crappy media.
I have tested it with (samsung + sony + Akira + Panasonic + hitachi + all other no brand dvd players) they cant read the disk after the first time trying to re-write it.
The programes that I used are DVD Shrink + Nero + dvd decry + AnyDVD + clonedvd2.

Your precious experiences is greatly appreciated.

hi monster,

unfortunately, i am NOT very experienced in the re-writeable department, sorry...:) i buy all my media in the "write once" only flavor, whether it be DVD-R or DVD+R, i do have a few Ridata Ritek 4x DVD+RW discs laying around, but, have never used them extensively to determine whether they were good or not, i basically just put data, not video, onto my re-writables :)

so, can't give you a definite opinion from experience there~ :) there is also a good chance that the stand alone dvd players that you tried the DVD+RW on does NOT support the DVD+RW format, that MIGHT or MIGHT NOT be the case, but, something to take into consideration~ :)

good luck

i do like the 'kivory66 dvd media list' way he describes discs ie

- the Memorex/CMC/or whichever one he did last time was PRICELESS, i was in tears"! - if only i could find a link :O

anyway, i'll add my copy/paste bit here re MCC parentage -
Quote:
MCC are top quality manufacturers. MCC (Mitsubishi Chemicals Corporation) is the parent company of MKM (Mitsubishi Kagaku Media), which in turn is the parent company of Verbatim.

sorry lol, the parentage quote was but a blatant excuse to go sort of offtopic and get back on again; was just subscribing to some threads so i could read them on the way to take my faulty burner back to the shop :)

@monster

the MCC003 8x DVD+R that I have personally used (Verbatim branded) are ALL made in TAIWAN~ :) you should be just fine with those~ :)

i have no experience with the new discs you have recently found, the A1 Gold, so, again, i can not comment to the quality of them...i have noticed on SOME of the lesser known media brands with the "good MID codings" on them (assuming you are talking about REAL ones, not the FAKE Taiyo Yuden codings that are EVERYWHERE nowadays with many counterfeit/poor quality companies), they should be ok...

i PERSONALLY have not run into any "fake MCC" coded media myself, but, i can imagine with companies nowadays, it IS very possible; i usually stick w/ the Verbatim branded ones whenever i want more MCC coded media, which have proven to be VERY good stuff in the past.

hope that helps, while in Europe my buddy creaky now gets the Taiyo Yuden made Verbatims, they are not available over here in the U.S. where i reside as of yet, or at least i have not seen them...but, ALL the Verbatims i have used or ever bought were ALL MADE IN TAIWAN :)

good luck

. . . except the Verbatim DVD+R DL that are made in Singapore, which, at least at this point in time, are the BEST DL media available

Agreed..!! MKM manufacture which made the Verbatim 2.4X - 4X DVD+R DL (Made In Sigapore) is the best for DL media at the moment.

will have to agree on the Verb DVD+R DL made in singapore, i have these in the 10 pack...THE BEST MEDIA in the DL variety so far~ :)

i will have to support that statement to the fullest~ DLs from singapore, great quality stuff~ :)

the single layer discs that i have from Verbatim, just happen to be ALL MADE IN TAIWAN, apologies that i was not more clear on that statement~ :) thanks for pointing that out catfreak & alkohol~ :)
