Does anybody know what this error means or how i can correct it.
This is what comes up
DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue
Failed to read file "D:\"
Data error (cyclic redundancy check)

The eroor always happens 27% into analysing the disc while trying to open it. The Dvd i was trying to open is Are We There Yet? If anyone knows anything about this please let me know

A CRC error is a bad sector, dirt, smudge, scratch, etc...on the disc.
Try cleaning the offensive disc. If this doesn't take care of the prob try DVD Decrypter, it is sometimes better at getting through tough spots on media.

Shrink cannot do this movie on its own, as suggested use Decrypter to rip. Or try the free DVD Fab Decrypter available at http://www.filepedia.com look under rippers. Or you can try the trial 21 day version of AnyDVD available at http://www.slysoft.com

jtk_16 ,
That is a Sony Movie release. After you try what LOCOENG suggested you can also use DVDFAB Decrypter or use the trial version of AnyDVD to decrypt the movie. DVDFab Decrypter is free and AnyDVD after the 21 day trial version expires is $39.00 US. If they all fail then it is usually a bad press and then you need to return the disk for exchange as no program will rip the Disk
